Lighting Installation in Centennial, CO

Recessed cans, fixture replacements, under-cabinet runs and exterior lighting built for a Front Range winter. Centennial, Greenwood Village and the neighbourhoods along Dry Creek Road.

Lighting That Was Planned Before It Was Cut

The difference between lighting that works and lighting that merely exists is almost always decided before anyone picks up a hole saw. Six cans spaced evenly down the middle of a room will light the floor and leave the counters in shadow; the same six placed against the work surfaces change the room entirely.

Centennial Electric handles lighting installation across Centennial and the south metro, and we start every job with a layout rather than a quantity. Colorado adds its own considerations. Long winter evenings mean interior lighting carries more of the day here than it does in a milder climate, and colour temperature choices that look fine in a showroom can read cold and clinical in a Southglenn living room in January.

Outside, fixtures face hail, UV at altitude and a freeze-thaw cycle that destroys anything not rated for it. Where a lighting plan needs more circuits than the panel can give it, we will tell you before the design rather than after.

What We Install

Interior, exterior and the switching that makes both usable.

  1. 1Recessed lighting with a drawn layoutWe plan the can positions against the room's actual furniture and work surfaces, mark the ceiling, and confirm with you before cutting anything.
  2. 2Retrofit cans in finished ceilingsShallow housings and remodel clips let us install in an existing ceiling without opening it, which keeps patching to a minimum.
  3. 3Fixture replacement and relocationChandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and vanity fixtures, including relocating a box when the existing position is wrong for the room.
  4. 4Under-cabinet and cove lightingLow-profile LED runs with the driver concealed and the switching integrated, so the kitchen counter is lit rather than glared at.
  5. 5Dimming that actually worksLED loads and older dimmers are a common and frustrating mismatch. We match the dimmer to the driver so you get a smooth range without flicker or buzz.
  6. 6Switching and three-way circuitsAdding a switch at the other end of a hallway, splitting a room onto separate zones, or correcting switching that never made sense.
  7. 7Exterior and landscape lightingPath lights, uplighting, soffit lighting and transformer work, with wet-rated fixtures, buried conduit and connections built to survive the freeze-thaw cycle.
  8. 8Security and motion lightingPositioned to cover approaches without lighting a neighbour's bedroom, with sensors set so they are not triggered by every passing rabbit.
  9. 9Garage, shop and basement lightingHigh-output LED fixtures on the right circuit, because the single bulb that came with the garage was never enough.
  10. 10Smart lighting and scene controlWhere you want it, wired and commissioned properly, with neutral conductors where the smart switches require them.

How a Lighting Job Runs

01

Layout on site

We walk the room with you, talk about what the space is used for and where the shadows currently fall, then mark the ceiling with the proposed positions. You see the plan before any commitment, and changes at this stage cost nothing but a pencil.

02

Installation

We protect the floors and furniture, cut the openings, run the cable through the attic or joist bays wherever access allows, and set the fixtures. Most single-room recessed jobs finish in a day. Where a run has to pass through finished drywall, the openings are small and deliberate rather than exploratory.

03

Dimming, aiming and clean-up

We set the dimmers, aim any adjustable trims, confirm the colour temperature reads the way you expected in your own room, and patch everything to a paint-ready finish. Boxes and packaging leave with us.

Why Centennial Electric for Lighting

The layout is agreed before the hole saw comes out

A can in the wrong place is a permanent mistake in a finished ceiling. Marking it out and letting you look at it first costs an extra twenty minutes and avoids every regret we have ever been called back to fix.

We solve LED dimming instead of apologising for it

Buzzing, flickering and a dead zone at the bottom of the dimmer range are matching problems, not a property of LEDs. Specifying a compatible dimmer for the driver is the whole fix.

Exterior work is specified for this climate

Hail, altitude UV and a brutal freeze-thaw cycle destroy fixtures and connections chosen for a milder place. We specify wet-rated equipment, proper burial and connections that stay sealed through a Front Range winter.
